Welcome to the Second Annual Norman Park Volunteer Fire Department 1 mile, 5K and 10K Run. Participants can run or walk any distance. The 2026 race will be PROFESSIONALLY CHIP TIMED by Milestone Race Authority on accurately measured courses.
Proceeds will go directly towards the purchase of a new brush/rescue truck. A brush fire truck (also called a wildland fire engine, brush truck, or Type 6 engine) is a specialized firefighting vehicle designed for battling wildfires and brush fires in rugged, off-road terrain like forests, grasslands, or rural areas. We are currrently in a a drought emergency and proper equiptment will save property and maybe lives. Notice the word VOLUNTEER. We are your neighbors, your churchgoers and brother and sisters. Our Mission is your safety so we are asking for your support.
New for 2026 is the addition of the CHALLENGE! Run the 1 mile at 7:30 and either the 5K or 10K at 8am and we will combine your times to determine men’s and women’s Challenge Champions!
Bothe the 5K and the 10K will award the overall Male and Female winners and first place M/F in 10-year age groups from 9 and under to 70 and over.
The 1 Mile will start at 7:30 AM and the 5K and 10K will start at 8AM. All races will finish at the Volunteer Fire Dept at 160 E Broad St in Norman Park GA. The 10K will be a 2-loop version of the 5K.
Runners entered by MIDNIGHT May 19, 2026, will receive a custom race shirt. Extra shirts may be ordered but will be available on a first come first served basis after the awards ceremony.
Race Headquarters will be at the fire station in the truck bays. Pre-race packet pickup will be held on Friday May 29, 2026, from 2 to 6 pm at the fire station.
If you cannot make the race live and in person, you can still support the volunteer fire dept fund raising effort by running virtually. You will have the option of having your shirt shipped. Virtual runners can submit their times directly on the ITS Your Race app or email the race timer, Jim. Virtual runners should submit there times no later then Sunday May 31, 2026.
